National Junior Honor Society
Florham Park School Districts National Junior Honor Society's Bylaws
The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. We are very honored and proud to have this organization in Ridgedale, as we continue to strive for excellence in our district.
The characteristics, or pillars, of the members are in direct correlation with the student characteristics we recognize regularly within the building. These character traits are important for all our students as we emphasis academic achievement and caring for others, in meaningful ways.
The membership in this organization requires some prerequisites. First students need to have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 (90%) or higher, (GPA is calculated on final grades for the year) in middle school and student involvement in activities that demonstrate leadership, service to others, or citizenship.
Once in the organization, students participate in activities that are designed to serve the community. Each year, NJHS students are asked to create a service project that they will work on for the school community. This year, we are hoping to design a service project that will benefit the community of Florham Park as well.
